About the Artist
Boston native Tom Quirke graduated from Massachusetts College of Art in 1978, specializing in illustration and sculpture. As a freelance illustrator, Tom began selling a variety of his pen and ink watercolor prints in Boston’s Faneuil Hall Marketplace, as well as throughout Boston and New England.
In 1987, Tom started Alphabet Soup Company, now Letters Perfect, offering a series of colorful, personalized alphabet letters for children through mail order. In addition, Tom has also illustrated editorial cartoons for the Boston Globe, donated his work to the Pine Street Inn shelter in Boston and his work has been displayed in the White House. Tom is known for his imaginative, heartwarming style which often depicts the humorous side of life. The eye-catching detail of his work reflects Tom’s patience and whimsical creativity.
